AOP part 65: How to photograph a model suspended from the ceiling.

Depending on the pose Maja has a greater or lesser control of her position. The silks can wrap, deliberately or as part of their own accord. The way the silk provides support to the body gives Maja different amounts of flexibility in the pose.

I really liked this waist suspension, it allows Maja to create this lovely graceful arch. From there she can sweep her arms back and down or above and forwards.

The winding and rotation of the silks is both a blessing and a curse. As they wind Maja's orientation to the camera changes. On the downside it might mean that Maja is facing the wrong direction to the camera or the light. On the upside, a very gentle push means she can hold the pose while she rotates in front of both.

You have to burst shoot, even a slow rotation is fast in camera terms. Sports mode and motor shutter are vital here.

You need to be prepared to keep shifting your camera position a lot because Maja will often end up 10 degrees off of where you need her.
