Critique for Colin
Colin attended one of our recent RPS art nude workshops. Although there were four models over the two days I like the way that Colin has focussed on just one, it makes for a stronger set.
The obvious glitch is the line on the backdrop which needs fixing
While the line of Isis wings is terrific and has a lovely iridescent quality Artermis' position within it does not look so good, her feet are awkward and the turn away doesn't help.
Nice mono image just too bright in the hot spots - this may be recoverable from the raw files.
The lighting across the figure is good though, giving a really good sense of shape and form.
Coloured gels on opposing sides work really well here. Gives good shape to the model and makes the background look good. However the crop across the elbow on right is too tight. Also the overall pose has meant that the nipples are pointing in opposite directions!
Much better, shape, pose and composition, shame the toes have been lost. I really like the strong arms. The dynamic camera angle works well as well.
The Isis wings look brilliant in this long exposure shot, absolutely brilliant.
However again with back to camera this makes an odd shot
Also, fix the glitches in the background, especially the floor.
Lovely and serene with just gentle curves in the wings. Fix the crease on the tummy,.
Difficult to know whether to crop the edges of the wings in or out, but I think this crop makes a strong composition in the frame.
Lovely. Technically the nose breaking the cheek and the loss of one eye ought to rule this picture out, but the light is terrific and there is a real strong sense of emotion in this image.
Some nice work here, you have a good eye and you've discovered that timing is everything when capturing motion shots.
