Most people's reaction when seeing these images is a bit of a giggle, your reaction was probably no different.

The camera points both ways.

This rather famous and often quoted line applies perfectly here. These pictures were made in 2007. I had been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, was bogged down in work I didn't want to do, and was very depressed.

A friend happened to say something to me about his feelings about life "I feel like a ghost" he said.

This literally rocked me in my seat. He had articulated in one single sentence of just five words exactly how I felt then.

I felt invisible.

These pictures were made to reflect that sentiment.

I had forgotten about them since then, life is different the illness is resolved, I love my work, and life is generally rather good. In moving the studio I happened across these pictures and I thought they were a interesting reflection for me personally, but as soon as I saw them I thought of that phrase "The camera points both ways".

Go back to any of your own work during a particular period and see what it says about you then, were you happy or sad, indoor or outdoors, angry and cheerful?
