This shoot is about (a) working in a confined space and (b) using gels on lighting sources behind the model.

The strobe behind the model is covered with a red gel. The strobe in front is bare bulb. By adjusting the relative ratios of the coloured and plain light sources you can change the depth of the colour in the background.

With a high angle and some simple drapes you can create striking images so simply.
Lighting Diagram
The softboxes at top and bottom of the model ensure a reasonably even illumination over the whole figure.
The lights must be reasonably low down to the floor to ensure good texture in the materials.
Swapping to different colours to change the feel of the image.
And don’t forget to get your model to lie on her tummy as well as her back. You can also shoot while she lies on her hip.

Looking down upon the figure gives the viewer a sense of power over a vulnerable figure.

A fairly stark lighting is required here, with the main light being the narrow softbox. The snoot behind provides seperation and a hair light.
And if we change the pose, the figure becomes powerful, but also the whole nature of the set changes.
And here of course is a somewhere in-between the two.

The aim in this shoot was to capture a sense of naturalism.
Really it is about putting the viewer in the position of voyeur – and its that voyeuristic element which adds the glamour and sensuality to the images.
Lighting Diagram
The lighting is from a window high to the right hand side – completely natural with a high ISO. Grain has been emphasised in post processing.
As the model moves from the window, contrast reduces, closer to the light the contrast will increase.
