AOP part 27: Emotional Content
By now you will have seen I use the word "emotion" frequently when discussing my images. You've guessed it, that is an important part of my images.
I can take pretty pictures till the cows come home, but what's the point of that? I want to capture feelings and hopefully evoke some response in the viewer because of that.
I like pictures that tell stories, or that invite the viewer to think (or feel) a little about the picture. Now I'm not trying to say I create masterpieces that leave people in tears for weeks. But I do like that additional edge, that extra dimension to an image.
For that reason I think the best models are also really good actors. They emote with their whole body, expressing feelings in just a single moment.
In this image I had been prompting Maja with words like "angst", "mania", "struggle", "depression". This has given Maja the feel for the pose.
Then in post I have reduced the saturation to imply the colour being taken out of life.
