These were shot in the studio this week, with the brave and fearless Leah Axl (the water was VERY cold!!!).   There are all sorts of variations one could work with this.

Clothes do look absolutely terrific in the water – which I know doesn’t sound sensible -  but it’s true.   The way the cloth moves and hangs and floats is really special.

If you don’t believe me then just look at the outfits, they are as cheap as you can get, and believe me you wouldn’t give them space even …

Glamour and costumes have been together forever, there is something about the costumed girl, whether its French Maid, School Ma’am, Policewoman or soldier.

A hard light from right, with a little bit of a spot to the head from the snooted strobe on the left.

Lighting Diagram
The scene is lit by a single narrow softbox to one side giving hard shadows and shadow transitions.

It is no good just flipping an image to form the right hand side, the …

A bright, white and cheerful look is typical of high key glamour – and indeed high key photography in general.

Lighting Diagram
The two softboxes left and right at front push in plenty of soft and diffused light with low shadows. The background is lit seperately with two additional lights, the lighting on the back is about the same level as the front.

You will often see that the back should be lit to 2 stops or more brighter than the subject – and yes, that works – mostly. However, …
