Critique for Richard
Richard created these images at one of our RPS art nude workshops. Attendees on our workshops can send images to me afterwards for review and critique.
Nice high key shot, lovely focus on Pixie's famous bottom.
Maybe just lit too square, moving the light more to the left (or twisting the body away a little more) - but I'm nit picking.
Shame the highlights are burnt out - I'm sure you would be able to pull them out of the raw file.
Lovely image otherwise, again gorgeous smooth tones and nice set of darks to lights in the old zoning system.
A bit dull I'm afraid. And a really odd optical illusion that makes me want to keep seeing three legs!!!! I think it's the highlight on the leading heal. The light is good but a spot of light on the nose.
Nice shot, lovely soft gentle, thoughtful. Lovely lighting across the body and on the face. Look at the way the face is lit in front of the darker arm behind.
Too wide, too close.
Camera height too high is making the distortion worse.
There's a toe sticking out
Nice shot. Simple, clean, elegant. Nice rim lighting with just the right amount of fill light. The separation of the pedestal and the floor is good too - although minor it's very important in structuring the shot.
Very well done.
The low key version of your opening high key shot. This is very close, but a little twist of the body against the light would have improved the lighting across the back so much.
Too wide, too close, wrong camera angle.
It's also wonky
Lighting is OK and I like the colour contrast.
Love the colours and expression - the way it vignettes off the right hand edge.
Trouble is the head tilt means the light is shining up the face.
Very good shot - it is a little flat in the lighting, but the whole pose is so interesting and enigmatic in itself that the rest doesn't matter.
Good set, your strength on the abstracts is well shown. You've got a good eye.
