Experimental Shoots: Graffiti Body Paint
Using the figure as a body painting canvas is great fun and can leads you into all sorts of places. This particular set featured LouLou as the model and the painting done by Sam Day.
What was interesting for me was trying to find ways to (a) document the development of the artwork and (b) create some interesting shots. I must admit I found this one a struggle, I couldn't quite get the right frame for this shoot. I tried lots of different things (in another post I'll look at more close-up, abstract versions).
These images are in sequence so you can see the development of the graffiti as we went along.
Lou is known as a bit of a "bristolian babbers-nutter" and these are very much in her style, I think the cartoon treatment is very effective on these images - the theme and the treatment go to together very well.
About the Experimental Shoots Blog Posts
In this series I am focussing on different kinds of setups I've tried. Some are more successful than others. The idea is tweak your creative juices. I'm going to give a few tips as we go, but not full details - I want your experiments to be your own - you will have different ideas, equipment, setups and so on.
I am always interested in the results, and if you want to post them to me I would be very happy to put them on the blog.
