Critique for Andrew L
Good set Andrew, comments are below each image.
I like the way you've de-saturdated this image and the crop works well. Nice daylight blue on the back of Artemis.
Nice image, but I'm bothered by a few things here. Firstly the turn of the head is awkward, especially that the far eye is not really visible. Remember everything should be deliberate so the eye should either be in or out. Also the bottom right needs cleaning up. It looks like there has been some heavy smoothing on the image that hasn't really paid off.
Good powerful shot. The textures of the sofa and dress all work together well. Artemis looks a little over-freckly here and they are distracting - needs a good going over with the spot healing brush. Not sure about Artemis right hand and the knuckles....
Like the soft light treatment, though how much of that is from rescuing an image that was a bit burnt-out? The highlights on the chest particularly are not good, showing a lot of banding in the tones. Crop this image higher, either put the whole foot in or crop above the feet. Ideally crop above the green carpet.
This image has worked well, Because of the pose it has to squash Artemis' tummy, that could do with pulling in a little with the free transform brush. A little more contrast and depth in the shadows would help to add punch to this image.
I'm not sure about this horizontal presentation, I assume it is deliberate.
The stripes on the body and wall are great, but the head needs cropping out because that is where it all goes wrong, with a hot nose and nothing on the top of the head. Similarly crop closer to the bum, lose the "unstriped" leg
Like your thinking on the colour tint.
Overall though a good strong collection of images. There's some good expression and emotion and a nice variety of styles and finishes.
